Following my retirement in July 2012 I have used Home Trades on two occasions to undertake upgrading works in a house which was purchased for my in - laws and the subsequent upgrading of their flat prior to it being marketed for sale. The work to the house included the installation of a bathroom and kitchen, remedial works to the ceiling and staircase, redecoration and the supply and installation of an external fence. In the lead up to the work starting on site I had a number of meeting with Steven and his colleagues to discuss and agree the work content so that I had a firm cost and a programme prior to the work starting. It had been my intention to move my in - laws prior to Christmas and whilst this did not happen the work to the house was completed to a high standard and on programme and it was slightly disappointing that after all of the hard work undertaken by Steven and his team, the actual move was put off until January. It was my intention to use the house as a benchmark in relation to asking Home Trades to carry out the work in the flat and I am pleased to say that the standard of workmanship and the “can do” attitude was such that I did not have any hesitation in using Home Trades for the upgrading of the flat. The work to the flat was more extensive and in addition to the <a href="https://www.diy.com/ideas-advice/how-to-install-the-kitchen-basics/CC_npci_100116.art">installation of a kitchen</a> and bathroom the flat has been rewired, had central heating installed and been decorated throughout. Now that my in - laws are sorted I will be upgrading our own flat prior to selling and would intend to use Home Trades for this work and any subsequent work in the house that we buy. Prior to my retirement I worked for NHS Lothian in the capital planning department and my last role was that of Project Director for the construction of the Royal Victoria Building at the Western General Hospital. During my time in capital planning I worked with a number of Contractors of varying sizes and brought to the table the same work ethic and customer friendly attitude that I looked for when I was working. In view of this I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Trades to undertake similar work and whilst I do not have first hand knowledge of them working in a commercial setting I do not think that his would cause them any issues.
